The Temporal Wave VBScript parser is available as a standalone parser or part of the upcoming ASP/ASP.Net page parser kit. The parser is fully compliant with VBScript 5.6 (IE 6/Windows XP), which is the client side version of VBScript. Obviously this is more than enough to navigate VBScript 3.0, which is what is coded within ASP pages.

The parser produces an AST and the parser kit includes an AST walker for this.

The parser kit can be used for anything from writing compilers/interpreters, additional semantic checks over the scripting engine,  or to write a convert to convert VBScript to something else.

Used in conjunction with the TW ASP/ASP.Net page parser, a complete web site converter could be written, for instance to convert ASP web sites to ASP.Net web sites. Temporal Wave may in fact produce such a conversion tool should interest be high enough (please email us if you are interested in a converter from ASP to ASP.Net.
